Or I can mute my party chat to my stream but still hear it myself, or I could mute myself from the stream and talk to my friends all within Wave Link. I can mute myself to my friends while talking to stream and still hearing my friends.

At any point, I can mute or adjust incoming or outgoing volume of my game, my voice chat, my own mic, etc.

This setup works beautifully with PS4 and it enables me to isolate every channel however I want to. Using Voicemeeter, I route my microphone audio to the green headphone/speaker and the incoming line-in audio I route to go to my "Wave Link Voice Chat" channel.

I then connect the mic end into the line-out (green headphone) input of my PC and the headphone end I connect into the line-in (blue) input of my PC. Then, I have a TRRS 3.5mm cable plugged into the controller and the other end goes into headphone/microphone splitter (I should note that my mic/headphone connections also go through ground loops to eliminate static noise). So, I have a Wave 3 mic from Elgato on my PC, and the way I have my setup is first of all I only have chat audio routed to the headset.

I have a different kind of situation that I have an issue with, but this solution should work for me as well! It's an expensive punt but having much higher audio quality and my own input and output dials right next to me in my sim rig is something hard to live without.ĮDIT: The $70 cable from apple didn't work. If it works I can run PS5 INPUT and OUTPUT through the DAC for a premium sound both ways. My cheapest resolution is to purchase a $70 cable from apple to convert my firewire DAC to USB-C. When playing the same games on PS5 the difference is night & day. On the PC I use an old PreSonus firewire DAC that sounds amazing in my ATH- M40x cans. I play Assetto Corsa Competizione and Ghost Recon: Breakpoint on both PC and PS5. This is not good enough for my fussy ears though.

So at the moment I just run my audio output to the TV (HDMI) and use cans from the TV headphone jack. There is some sort of audio distortion that comes in waves. However, using it as my audio OUTPUT as well created problems. I pulled out from the cupboard my TC Electronic Helicon VoiceLive PLAY Vocal Effects/Harmony Processor from my singing days and hooked it up to the PS5. Thank Sony for the headache is having to jump through hoops just to get this done.Įvidence the setup is working as intended, and well.

One being your desired headphones / headset and the other your USB mic / XLR mic connected via USB mixer with class-compliant drivers that allow it to function on the PS5 without issue. You should now have separate INPUT / OUTPUT devices.

It's silly we need to go through such hoops to get input / output to be through different devices, but it is what you need to do for now.

You may also need this video if like me you have a wireless headset and the PS5 keeps switching to one USB device or the other in the settings. You do whatever makes you happy so long as like u/fuzeebear says. I personally wouldn't buy an overly expensive mixer just for this purpose because there will only be so much you can do while streaming from the console itself. but is all you need to get your XLR microphone working well on your console. A good example of such a mixer would be the Behringer XENYX302USB, it's cheap. You need to buy a USB mixer that requires no drivers. Long story short if your current USB mixer requires drivers on PC to function (GO XLR, Focusrite, etc.), it won't work. I know this is a niche topic to discuss on this particular subreddit, but I do want this post to exist for anyone doing a Google search in the future so that it can be found.
